When is the Tax Credit Applied?
Once your eligibility is verified, you may elect to apply the EV tax credit to reduce your final vehicle payment or you may claim the credit on your tax return.
How Do I File?
Your Clean Vehicle Report is available in your Tesla Account, which is a necessary document to claim your EV tax credit on Form 8936. You will need to report the credit on your tax return whether you applied the credit to reduce your final vehicle payment or not.
